draft pick compensation

OK, this is basically how it was done last year:

If you lost an "A" (90+) Free agent you received a sandwich pick between rounds 1 and 2. In addition you received the team that signed him's 2nd round pick, or if they no longer had that pick you received a sandwich pick between the 2nd and 3rd round. The team that signed him loses their 2nd pick, or if that pick is not available you lose your next best pick.

If you lost a "B" (Next best free agents that bring the total # of picks to 180 after compensation for "A' and "B" free agents) free agent you received a pick after the 5th round.

Any comments? I'm also going to be posting something regarding trading draft picks. I think this has worked well, but could use some tweaking to work better with draft pick compensation.

We should probably just block trading 2nd round picks...

Poll at this time will be:

1) no changes
2) hold off on trading 2nd round picks until draft compensation is calculated.

Don't think there has been enough interest in changing this, but I'd like to see it changed so teams can't sign an "A" free agent and then trade their 2nd round pick since they're losing it anyway.

B FAs recieved picks in the sandwhich round not after the 5th round that extra sandwhich round was setup to compensate teams who lost A FAs and the signing team proceeded to trade off their 2nd round picks

Can you explain that again?

Ok the reason the sandwhich round after the 5th came up is because of the rash of people trading their 2nd rounders after signing type As. Type As recieve the signing teams 2nd rounder and a sanwhich pick between the 1st and 2nd. The Bs recieve that sanwhich in the 2nd round only. Any other questions?
