| The playoffs simming will stay the same, but we are delaying free agency until Sunday. After the playoffs, we will try to fill up the last couple of teams available before free agency. | |

| shouldn't we postpone everything and spend some time trying to recruit new GMs? if BAL, STL and FLA are all open, those are 3 very attractive teams.
oh yea, and in case i wasnt clear before i'd like to switch from FLA to PIT

| Well, we are delaying free agency. We weren't planning on recruiting until this season is over(aka, end of world series) so there is no point in delaying them. But once the world series ends, we will start.... | |

| I'll officially switch over to San Diego on Wednesday and post an offseason plan - should I assume that I have the ability to outright release any contracts I wish? | |

| Because...why would owners switch teams. Whether you build a team up or run it into the ground, owners should just stay where they are. It just gives the league less consistency. Maybe if the hire/fire GM rule gets passed there should be switching teams allowed.
There is no reason for this especially if we are going to let teams come in and release contracts, etc.
So that's why I think it would be gay.

| Well, if you look at it in the sense a lot of the switches would be from good teams to crappy teams to help the league grow, it makes sense | |

| I realize exactly what the switches are going to be....to crappy teams. But tell me how is the league going to grow? As an owner, I'd much rather take over a team where I had total control rather than inheriting someone else's work. Do you REALLY think owners are going to be so much more interested in taking a team like the O's over the Padres even if they get to release any contract they want? | |

| I see the point of the switching and it is ok with me as long as owners don't switch every year and don't just screw up a team and then switch. | |

Actually, yes. If I was a potential new gm, I would much rather have the Orioles then the Padres. Orioles have a pretty good offense, an average bullpen, and an ok rotation, and are $+10,000,000. Padres however are almost $-90,000,000. That is going to take releasing of almost every good player you have on that team to maybe get even. I doubt any new guy would want to deal with that. Maybe I am missing something, but the Orioles looks much more interesting to people than the Padres in the state they are in as of this moment

| I guess it's ok if it's just a couple teams but if this becomes a common thing it will be a problem. | |

I'm not sure what is so difficult to understand about this. Perhaps, YOU, would rather take on team in a horrible financial state, but it appears the vast majority of people don't want that burden (which is proven by the # of registered users we've had, then never hearing from them). "As an owner, I'd much rather take over a team where I had total control rather than inheriting someone else's work."What makes someone more in control of taking over a crappy team as opposed to a good team? The only difference is you have a lot more work cut out for you by taking over a team with a horrible financial and talent situation.

| are you getting worked up? Is it that hard to understand that I'd just rather have consistency in the league than having owners switch all over the place. I mean, you're in my division so I'd probably want you to leave somewhere else if I were out for myself. I'm not....I just think in the long run....guys switching all around will be worse for the league.
To answer your 2nd quote. If you inherit someone elses good team, guys will always say, "yeah, but they were already good when you got there." I'm sure most people would enjoy the satisfaction of knowing they built a team themselves.
And I was not talking about I'd like to take a team over in horrible financial state. I understood it as there would be drops of salaries and that debt would be reset.

We're not gonna be doing this everyday... it'll only be when there is a group consensus that there are a bunch of unattractive teams that are absolutely so screwed over that noone will want them... only then will we let GMs switch teams... We're not gonna grant team changes unless its for this problem...
