Offseason Schedule and Important Info/Instructions

Okay this is tentative, but I'd like to get a post up with the latest plans and who is scheduled to do them. I'll edit this as needed.

Arbitration offers/contract renewals will be due by Friday, July 20th by 6PM. (tunit)

Free agency estimated start time is Sunday night 7/22/07 (tunit)

Here's how arbitration will work. If you want to offer Arbitration you need to say so, and you need to say how much. If you want to sign a player of yours whose contract has expired you need to say so and DETAIL how you want the negotiations to go, and ABOUT what you are expecting to sign him for. This means you need to list the steps you took to get to that amount. (For an example on what I mean see: https://baseballmogul2007.editboard.com/Free-Agents-Contract-Negotiations-c8/Contracts-f13/Orioles-Chris-Britton-Closer-t2291.htm )This may take a little longer than what you are used to, but if you are not familiar with how this works on our end here's how it goes. Once you start this process it goes alphabetically by team, from start to finish, and for EVERY player up for arbitration or contract renewal. There is no saving in the middle of this process, so we cannot spend time taking two or three attempts so we get close to what the owner wanted. We are looking for you to include in each step the years, dollars, team option details, and player option details. Tunit will be working on getting these entered next weekend. (If you did not know, I will be on vacation until the 22nd. I have a wireless USB adapter, but I doubt it will reach the Library that is 10 miles away from where I will be I will maybe be able to check in 2 or 3 times during that stretch) Once he has the file completed he will post it, and announce the official start time of free agency. In addition he will detail who the "A" free agents are. Be aware if you sign one of these you will lose a pick as free agent compensation. He will also list who the potential "B" free agents are. This has no affect on free agency, so not that big of a deal at this time.

Please watch for this file, and updates from Tunit on when it will be done. Once it is posted please check your team's transactions to make sure your requested changes were done.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE!!! IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT TO OFFER ARBITRATION OR A NEW CONTRACT TO A PLAYER YOU WILL LOSE THAT PLAYER TO FREE AGENCY!!

Once free agency starts I will start working to schedule the Draft. This will be affected by the # of "A" free agents, and everyone's schedule. We try and accomadate as many owners as we can when scheduling this.
