| Why do we have an announcements page and nothing gets posted here unless it's due in two days or has already happened? | |

I posted this nearly a week ago.

| And as of 8pm yesterday there was still confusion - now it's done. We, out of the blue, are doing one right before a sim is about to happen, have the protections leak out, people still confused, then we go ahead and rush into it anyway?
Ugh.... | |

Ugh.... If you consider someone making a mistake about one of the GMs list of players confusion, then yes, there was confusion. Out of the blue??? This was posted a week ago and I gave people two-three days to make their protections and picks. What do you mean have the protections leak out? And again, no one seemed to have much confusion. I dont know where you got this from. And a week is not rushing....

| The better question is - does anyone other then you have a clue about how this just happened?
And what happened to it possibly happening live? This whole thing from start to finish has been handled piss poor. We have less active GMs - cuz there is no solid plan in place for what we're doing at any given time.

Everyone else had no problem with it and you didnt mention any problems until now.
And what happened to it possibly happening live? No one said anything about it being live. Why would I waste my time to conduct a draft when a lot of teams dont even use the rule V draft? This whole thing from start to finish has been handled piss poor. We have less active GMs - cuz there is no solid plan in place for what we're doing at any given time. Yeah, thats why this league is about to start its second season, which never usually happens in other leagues. And we have active gms, not every single team in every single league is filled up. And we have a simming schedule and I post whenever an event is about to occur every time.

| Travis Denker from the Dodgers should have been our selection as I had asked for the highest peak available on the list I provided to be selected. | |

| Damn lost 2 players. Spears should be solid but I'd be surprised if Jackson gets a hit. He hit .197 in Rookie ball last year. That was a big waste of 5 mil. | |

| Upon looking at it further, Freddy Sanchez was the player that I had with the highest peak. I had thought maybe he was up on the Big League roster and somehow I was mistaken but I included him among the players I would draft and indeed he is in AAA and was not protected. I do agree with Baltimore on the fact that the start of the season was rushed after this draft. Sanchez is a player that would definitely have an impact on my club and now we've already played 12 games. | |

| Cubs guy, I hadn't looked over your team for selecting a player in the draft. The guys taken have very high peaks. Jackson was only 17 last year and his current rating is in the 40's. I'm sure when he progresses he'll be fine though as his peak is a 97!!!!! That is a great pickup, he'll probably be one of the best SS in the game when he gets bumped back to the minors after this season for development. | |

| Oh yeah, one more thing. What do you mean waste of 5 million dollars? In the run down, it says that a team selecting a player just pays the other team $100,000. | |

| I had paid 5 mil to sign Jackson as a free agent. He could develop into a solid SS especially with the glove but he is prob 5-6 years away and I had other players I wanted to protect. | |

| OK.....looking ahead with the Rule V draft. I don't think it really mimics the reality of what happens. The players selected this year were all high peak players with the exception of one. In real life, you just don't see players like that selected in this draft. There might be a diamond in the rough once in awhile like Roberto Clemente was.....but the fact is it is not very common. I think that if we are to keep this then we should use the rule that players are automatically protected their first 3 or 4 years after being drafted (depends on their age). Or we should just get rid of it altogether as I don't see this reflecting what actually goes on in Major League Baseball. | |

| The Rule 5 draft
Eligibility: A player not on a team's Major League 40-man roster is eligible for the Rule 5 draft if: the player was 18 or younger when he first signed a pro contract and this is the fourth Rule 5 draft since he signed, OR if he was 19 or older when he first signed a pro contract and this is the third Rule 5 draft since he signed.
A way to do this might be to set the age of the players eligibility at 22 or 23 since most guys come into mogul at age 17 or 18
