| We are going to have a rule V draft over the weekend. The draft order will be the same as the amateur draft. And this is how it works.... Any player on the 25 man roster is not available. The GM of a team can protect up to 15 minor league players. If you draft a player, you must pay the team you drafted him from $100,000. You must keep him on your 25 man roster the whole year, unless he is injured. If he is injured, you may put him on the DL. If you want to send your player to the minors, you have to offer the player back to his old team for $50,000. If they want him, they get him back by paying the cash. If they dont want him, the player must then pass through waivers. If he passes waivers, then he can be placed in the minors and he will become like any other minor leaguer. You must pm me the 15 players you would like to protect by Sunday. I will post all of the players protected Sunday night. Then on either Monday or Tuesday, you must pm me who you would like to draft. And make sure you make a list because there is only one round and your #1 choice might not be available. Any questions or comments? | |

| I'm out of town with no access to Mogul, won't be able to submit my 15, I guess just keep the highest peaks but PM me who that would be. | |

| Well, I would've if anything was going on - but we're just kind of in limbo here in terms of a schedule. Things are coming up somewhat randomnly, otherwise I would've. | |

Sorry about that, we've just been fixing up the site everywhere and on a recruiting spree, just try to familiarize yourself with some of the new formatting:)

| I got the format just fine, I didn't post a leave of absence because I'm still able to check the site and there was no information about upcoming events to worry about. | |

Its alright... I think it would be safe to say that you should post that you are not able to access your mogul rather than just "i'm not gonna be here"... i'll make sure i change that...

| Are we going to use the rule that only players who have not appeared in the Majors are eligible? | |

| I'll try and make a list of who I'd want to take in the Rule V Draft but you can just select the best available peak player if I don't get it in.....assuming you'd have a list. | |

| Here's a link to explanation of the Rule V Draft. This says that only teams who did not have a full 40 man roster would be allowed to draft players (so teams that didn't submit 15 names). Are we gonna go by this?? | |

| It also says that teams didn't have to protect players 19 and older for 3 years after they were drafted and 18 and older for 4 years. This makes sense that you wouldn't be able to lose someone newly drafted to the Rule V draft. | |

| I would do that, but there are much less minor leaguers in mogul than in real life, and it would be confusing to a lot of members who werent familiar with the rule V draft. | |

| I've also noticed that St. Louis just protected their 40 top players + prospects when it should be their 25 man roster plus their 15 highest prospects in the minor leagues. This makes it much easier to protect that deep farm system and should be fixed somehow before we do the Rule V Draft. | |

| hey steve, I can name my 25 man roster off of those 40 protected plus 15 minor leaguers, which the minor league definition wasn't set only as prospects so I did protect some of my FA signings that will be in the minors to start the season.
25 man roster C: Russell Martin, Chris Snyder 1B: Derek Lee 2B: Chase Utley 3B: Dan Johnson SS: Felipe Lopez, Maicer Izturis OFs: Adam Dunn, Milton Bradley, Aubrey Huff, Jose Cruz Jr., Luis Gonzalez, Russell Branyan, David Dejesus P: Josh Johnson, Scott Kazmir, Erik Bedard, Gustavo Chacin, Justin Wayne, Francisco Rodriguez, Mike Gonzalez, Trevor Miller, Blaine Neal, Jose Capellan, Chad Cordero
That is my intended 25 man roster at this point, maybe a few minor tweaks but the only guys that may end up on that 25 are guys that are otherwise protected such as Saunders, Billingsley, Ray.
Also another note I have a spot on my 40 man, I noticed I protected Kyle Waldrop on my original list by accident not having my mogul avaliale to see I had already dealt him to WAS.
