This will be my thread for all of my teams stories.

KANSAS CITY -- It has been a big offseason for many teams this winter. Amongst the teams that hit jackpot this season, the Royals have been one of them. During the free agency period, Kansas City made some huge transactions. Brian Bannister, Jhonny Peralta, and Carlos Guillen are three of the big names signed by Kansas City Royals. Jack Cust, Richie Sexson, and Joe Kennedy were also another signee by KC this offseason.

The draft was pretty successful for the Royals this season also. With the 11th overall pick in the draft, KC chose Jamie Polwarth, a first baseman with a lot of potential. Polwarth should be a big help to the Royals in the next couple of years.

John Underdown was the 86th overall pick of the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft for Kansas City. His talent is pretty raw right now, but as Underdown develops, he could help the Royals bullpen big time.

Will 2011 be big for the Royals? With the Twins and Detroit having well stacked teams, it could be an exciting AL Central this year. All of this will unfold in the following months!

KANSAS CITY -- Spring Training was pretty successful for the Kansas City
pitching rotation. The starting five pitchers went 11-4 for the Royals in March. Blake Johnson had a pretty strong Spring Training in the closer position as well. The one dissapointing pitcher this March was Koji Uehara, who had an 0-4 record. There is a possibility of Johnson taking Uehara's spot in the rotation and Koji beomes the closer.

The hitting this Spring Training was a different story. Besides Ryan Doumit and Julio Lugo, no one in the Royal's starting lineup had a batting average above .300. As I have said earlier, offense may be the biggest problem for Kansas City this offseason. I predict KC to finish up in third place due to the lack of hitting ability.

The season starts Sunday, April 4th for the Royals. They will be facing the Blue Jays in Toronto at 5:05 PM.

KANSAS CITY -- Week one of the season wasn't a great one for the Royals. After the first 6 games of the season, Kansas City is 1-5. And it does not look like it is going to get any better in the next couple days. The Minnesota Twins will be visiting Kauffman Stadium for the next three games in KC's season. Minnesota is currently ranked 6th out of the 30 teams in the power rankings.

After the first week on the season, Kansas City's team batting average is a league low .167. When batting .167, the combined 3.78 ERA from the pitching staff means nothing. It is believed that Blake Johnson will enter the pitching rotation, and Brian Bannister will become the number three pitcher in the rotation.
