The Cubs had another good week and are now 4 games in from of StL. Their only loss this week was to former Cubs Vince Perkins and the Reds. Arod and Aubrey powered the Cubs offense against the Dodgers hitting a combined 7 HRs with 16 RBI in the 3 game sweep.

With series against the struggling White Sox and .500 level Phillies we were looking for a big week, and the O's came through with 2 sweeps.

In the White Sox series we outscored them 27-11 over 3 games, winning 9-2, 8-5, and 10-4. Zach Duke pitched a solid 7 innings, giving up just 2 runs. Ryan Howard powered the offense with 3 hits, 4 runs, a home run, and 2 rbi. Luke Scott Finally hit a Home Run as well. In game two Scott continued to heat up, hitting his 2nd home run and raising his average to .274 with 3 hits. Renteria chipped in 3 hits as well. In this game the bullpen covered for Travis Chick, who only lasted 3 innings. The bullpen went the rest of the way giving up only 1 run. In game 3 Lester allowed 1 run in 6 innings before the bullpen struggled slightly giving up 3 more runs. The offense had things under control though, with 15 hits, 3 HR, and 6 doubles. Loney and Hermida both had 3 hits and 2 doubles.

The Phillies series was more of the same, as we outscored them 19-8. In game one we came from 4 down and scored 5 in the 7th for the win. Aardsma and Britton pitched a perfect 8th and 9th to close things out, and Hermida led the way offensively with a home run and 3 RBI. Game 2 was a 3 hitter by Livan, who continues to be quite impressive. Livan walked none and struck out 6, and Trot Nixon led the offense with a double and home run which led to 4 RBI. In the final game of the week Howard and Johnson led teh way with 3 RBI each, and the bullpen pitched a scoreless 3 innings to close things out on a great week.

Great week for the O's as we put a few games between us and the Yanks. We're just over a 1/4 of the way through the season, and we're proving we belong with the top teams of the league.

Bad week for the D-Rays who are continually being ravaged by injuries. Swept by the mariners again extending the losing streak to 9 straight games. Then dropping 2 of 3 against the Braves. Sunny Santa Ana is looking really nice right about now. 8 back in WC and 10 back in the division.

The Rangers had more injuries this week, we are feeling the same injury problems that are hitting the Devil Rays hard. Travis Hafner hit a HR in his first game as a Ranger, then went on to get hurt but luckily he will only be out for 3 more days.
We swept Boston to begin the week which drove our winning streak to 8 games in a row, but then soon after the Boston series we were swept by a strong SF Giants team.
We are looking forward to getting Hafner back this week, and we are currently working on a trade to bring in Patterson to play CF, Salty to catch, Lowe and Cabrera to SP from Baltimore. Our team is weak in the OF and C positions this season so these moves should strengthen our club.
The week ahead matches us up against the BlueJays and Indians, we look forward to these upcoming battles.
