Ok, this is my plan simming-wise for the rest of the season

I plan on speeding up September, because there are only a couple of teams with a real shot and its not fair for the teams out of contention to have to wait. Also, we plan on having a "winter meetings" later this week. We will discuss various potential additions or subtractions to this league and we will come to a conclusion as a league.


And the sim for tonight (2/12) will be at approximately 7:15 tonight EST, so get on aim and we can have a full chatroom.

well September could be the most crucial stretch for teams that are competing though.....I'd say if you speed it up make sure you ask for a detailed plan from all teams in contention

Ill be running a chatroom thursday night and they can post everything in their depth chart in addition to that.

Or do you think I should run a sim Thursday afternoon for the first half of September and a sim later that night about 5 hours later for the second half?

I say we ask the contending teams(so probably the divison leaders, the two wild card teams, and me/Dodgers).. If they can all be on at one time Thrusday, we can have an aim chat, and do it all at once Thrusday. Or if everyone cannot, then you can have one sim early Thrusday, and one sim at night. Let's just get it done Thrusday.

with how few contenders we have I could see that being realistic

I am also looking foward to the "winter meetings". This league needs a couple changes

we need to make sure we don't drag out talking about things over the offseason. . . . perhaps some issues could be introduced now to get feedback on them so we have a better idea going into the offseason. I started the talk of the Rule V draft and it appears that it doesn't have the support of anyone except the Commish at the moment. Other ideas would be good to introduce as soon as possible just to generate discussion.

I have a couple things to bring up, like an example could be draft composition, among others. I think Marlins had an idea. Admin has some ideas, also. So ideas will probably be introduced on Thrusday, Friday

Umm... so we're gonna do a month in a day??? A little quick dontcha think???

We did it last year, its not fair for the teams out of contention to wait around for the rest of the year....

How many teams out of contention have stated that it's not fair to them?

If you were out of contention, would you want to sit around an extra week doing nothing when it could be one day?

So back to my question, how many teams out of contention have stated that it's not fair to them? It's a simple question, should require a simple response.

None, because i already said that we would sim september in one day.

So, a couple teams in contention have a problem doing a month at a time, nobody out of contention has said it's unfair to sim at a slower pace..... so we're doing a month at a time. I don't really care one way or the other, I just wanted to make sure I understood what you were "thinking".

No one had a problem last year and they havent said that because i already announced we would sim September on Thursday.


We could do half and half like i said earlier.

I don't think year 1 resolutions should automatically be a benchmark for all future years.

Fine, Ill sim a third of september on thursday, a third on sunday, and the rest on monday. Then the playoffs will start Tuesday. But someone might need to do the playoffs, because I probably wont be here.

And I just think its odd how everyone wanted to sim september in one day last season, and now everyone doesnt.

I think if I were in contention I'd want it simmed out over a few days but it doesn't matter to me as I'm out of contention. But I do respect the teams that are competing so I'd say it's up to them.

It's up to the teams in contention. Poll them, majority rules.
After all, they have the biggest stake in it. I can certainly
appreciate thinking of us though. I'm anxious for the end-
of-season.

And to me Arizona/LAD have the biggets stake of any team in contention to want to adjust his roster etc, the other 5 playoff teams are already a lock (me, FL, NYM, MIN, NYY, TEX, DET) I'm in a battle for homefield but I'd rather go ahead and get to the playoffs already.

I wanna take September in 2 days personally... theres no need to sim it in 3... but 2 days allows us to adjust rosters in between if anything happens...
