| Just wondering so people can plan..... any more votes to be done? When will an updated game file be available (I realize this could take a few days once all the signings are done)? When are we looking at A)holding the draft, B) starting spring training C) starting the season.
Also is there a rule 5 draft. I know this is mentioned somewhere but I thought it wasn't liked, or needed some changes, or maybe I'm just making that up.
Any thing else I'm missing?

| Ok, just checking back in. How about an estimate for when the league file will be ready, and a timeframe for when the draft will be held? I realize the free agent signings take some time, but are we looking at next week, this weekend, next few nights, etc? As part of draft preperation I assume the admin team has been tracking the traded picks, but if not maybe we can start a thread for people to post what picks they've traded or traded for. I assume something similiar will be posted to show what picks were lost as part of free agent compensation.
Also I never heard if the rule 5 draft is still being done.

| We stopped doing the rule V draft after the first season..
The file should be up today and tomorrow, and the draft should take place this weekend.
Im looking through all the trades right now to see which picks have been traded, but if you would like to start a thread about what teams traded which pick, it would be a big help.

| PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE don't have the draft on Sunday, I'll be at King's Island and won't be home until 11 sunday night. Friday night, anytime Saturday, or even Monday are all open for me. I'll start a thread on the approved trades thread for traded picks.... i think i have all mine written down. Maybe after the draft we can start a sticky or pinned message in the approved thread that can be updated with picks included in future trades. | |

| well let's figure out a date, the more people that can be there the better. Also if you sim up to the draft I'll put together a list in Excel sorted first by peak then by overall where the peaks are the same (70/90 would be higher on the list then 65/90). This can be used by everyone so there is no confusion about who is to be picked for owners that aren't there and don't provide a list of their own. Sound good? | |

You dont have to do that, I could just draft players while in commish mode and get the highest peak for whoever doesnt make a list.

| If I remember from past drafts too, it can change every time you sim up to the draft and we had owners who showed the same prospect with a peak that would be one off of what the other guy had shown. | |

| that's why I was suggesting a sim up to the draft being done a few days before the actual draft.... then everybody is looking at the same info. If you're inclined to preparing ahead of time this might be of use. | |

| This past weekend Seriously though, seems a bit too much downtime during the offseason. Maybe we can come up with set dates before the next offseason even begins. We could make a calendar of when each sim will take us through.....just give us a little more stability. What does everyone think? | |

| I've worked up a tentative draft order and sent it to admin. it reflects all trades and draft compensation which had to be tinkered with due to all the trades and several teams signing multiple free agents. This needs to be posted, and checked over for any mistakes I might of made. For instance admin didn't like that I incorrectly took away his 1st round pick I think this list should be posted today, and the league should be updated with trades and simmed up until the draft. I also think a list should be put out of amateur draft players ranked from highest to lowest peak. This could then be followed by everyone available for the draft and used for all teams that arent' there to make their picks unless they've specified otherwise. Seems like last year different people had different players with the highest peak at times and it slowed the draft down as we debated who should be picked. These are all up to the admin team of course, but I think the draft order list and prospect list by peak would speed the live draft along. That being said, I think the draft order at least needs a day or two to allow people to make sure their picks are right. If so the draft could be Wednesday or later, but can't be going on @ 10pm on Wednesday because I know several people watch Lost at that time | |

Yes they are the same, but when you sort them by overall the "better" 88 is higher up.
