Great stretch for the O's, as they've got another 13 game streak going right now. We swept the Royals, swept the A's, and have taken 2 so far from the Angels.
Series vs the Royals, wins of 7-4, 15-5, 11-3. First game saw 7 solid innings from Rupe, a 4-5 game from Howard, and a 4 run HR from Delgado. Game 2 saw the O's bang out 23 hits. Every Oriole got a hit, and 7 Orioles had multiple hits games... notable lines were Howard 5/6 with a HR and 4 RBI, Mark Ellis and James Loney 4/5. More offense in the final game of the series. HR from Renteria, Gotay, and Howard. 2 RBI from Renteria, Gotay, Howard, and Whiteside. 3 RBI from Johnson. Good series vs KC!
Series vs Oakland was more of the same... wins of 10-2, 5-1, and 4-3. First game was a great game from Jerome Williams, who went 8 innings striking out 7 and giving up 1 run for his 10th win. Gotay had 2 HR and 4 RBI, and Howard hit his 42nd HR. Renteria and Barajas each chipped in 3 hits. Lester followed this up by getting his 10th win, striking out 9 Ks in 6 innings. Howard, Scott and Loney all hit HR in this game. Game 3 saw another 10th win, as Rupe went 8.2 innings, giving up 3 runs. The offense was let by HR from Loney and Nixon. Loney had 3 other hits, and Nixon had 2 other hits. Another good series!
The good pitching continued in game 1 of the Angels series, as Duke went 7.2 innings giving up just 2 Runs, and striking out 8. Ryan Howard homered again, for his 44th of the year. Game 2 saw a rough outing for prospect Eric Hurley, but a big outing again from the offense. 18 hits and 4 walks resulted in 12 runs, for an easy 12-6 win. Gotay went 4 for 5, raising his average to 380. Included in the 4 hits were a double and 2 HR, resulting in 4 RBI.
The O's are rolling, and will be looking to add a few pieces if it makes sense at the trade deadline. This year has O's fans flocking to games, and excited about seeing playoff games again. The O's are a young team, so this should continue for quite some time!
