OK, looks like this is starting to wrap up as Hafner is the only open bidding left. So I'll throw this out there for your input, and will edit and add more if people bring topics up:

BEST Signing of 2008

WORST Signing of 2008

What TEAM did the best overall in free agency

What TEAM did the worst overall in free agency (other than the obvious where a team did no bidding at all

Last two may be kinda hard as you probably won't look all of each team's deals, so maybe just a chance to brag on yourself or mock a friend/enemy.

I was shocked at the amount of money spent on FA this offseason. I released a couple of players because they wanted too much in arbitration thinking I would be able to resign them. I haven’t looked at too many of the players in detail but Fielder and Melky Cabrera were grossly overpaid by the Mets and Giants. Fielder 10 years and 20 some million!! That is a lot of money to commit to one player but I supposed the Mets can afford it. Arod is killing my budget flexibility and I can see Fielder doing the same to the Mets. Cabrera is a player that I thought wanted too much when he wanted 5 mil in arbitration and he gets 7/9 from the Giants! He doesn’t excel in any area but is a decent overall player. I was able to sign Eric Bynes to replace Cabrera for 2/2.6. Is Cabrera really worth the extra 5 years and almost 7 mil per?

Now that we have more members, the free agent prices skyrocketted.

I still think the Bobby Abreu signing at 3/3.5 was the best Smile

The Fielder deal was absolutely INSANE!!!

He has an average eye, no speed, and isn't a special fielder. Giving him 10 years is suicide.

He's a 93 rating at 1st... its pretty good... he puts up great numbers and fits perfectly into my lineup... I have the budget flexibility right now... it will bite me in the ass when he hits year number 8 but I don't think thats the issue when your team needs a boost and you don't have any other assets other than money at this point....

I think the Indians will be a team to watch out for. I came into the league and they sorta stunk, but the offseason allowed me to get a lot of key players Smile No more 61 wins seasons I hope! I think that's what they had last year, lol.
