| Even I didn't think I would be this good. So far everyone is performing better than expected. I will come back down to earth once my guys realize they aren't as good as they are playing. | |

Are you sure? Im positive, Mannys on the best team and his 500+ OBP is much more important than slugging percentage.

| It could be argued that Manny isn't even the MVP of the Cubs as Arod and Lowell are having great years as well. | |

| but that's why they have the OPS which is usually the top argument for determining the value of hitters now days. | |

| The gap in OPS is small compared to the gap in obp. Billy Beane has always said obp is about 3 times more important than slugging percentage so imo Manny is having the better season. Either way, it makes a great debate. You cant go wrong with either player. | |

| I'll add this to the debate though....how many World Championships has Billy Beane won?
Why do we even listen to Moneyball....

| Hes had one of the lowest payrolls in all of baseball and competes for a world series every year. If you had the Yankees payroll his team would be the best team. And the playoffs are a crapshoot, the best team doesnt always win. Look at St. Louis this year. | |

| This is really close. Tracy is obviously having the better hitting, and producing year(by the stats I've shown). But Manny is having the better overall game(basically meaning eye, and stuff). Also, the place they have their teams don't lead us to a winner either. Both team's are in first. Manny's Cubs have the best record in the league, but there are so many weapons on that team. Tracy is the only real threat in that lineup right now(w/o Soriano), besides maybe Lugo, but the D'backs record isn't too good.
Either guy is good, but I would still go with Tracy.

| Forget Tracy and Ramirez, how about Tom Gorzelany 8-0 with a 0.56 ERA. Opposing hitters are only batting .149! | |

Comparing Gorzelanny to Johan is an insult considering the way he is pitching.

| throw Andruw Jones name into the mix for the MVP. 22 HR (1st MLB), 57 RBI (1st in MLB), .294 avg, 1.047 OPS (9th MLB), 1 error in 45 games. he's single handedly trying to keep the Braves in the race. will he be successful? probably not, but he's giving it a go and deserves some consideration. | |
