| Ok, Chase Utley has no given us a reason to keep a record book. 21 RBI over the course of 8 games to push him over the century mark as of 9 AUG. Derrek Lee has to be considered the heart of the lineup for consistency, but I don't know how many hitters of any caliber can go put up 21 RBI in 8 games. | |

| pfff, 1/3 of those came in 1 big game he had against Sean Thompson and company.... the rest of the games were mediocre. i understand hyping your players, but let's not go overboard here.
If you are looking for something to hype, how about Aaron Cook going 8-0 with 4 CGs (4 others went 8 innings) in a 10 game span compiling a 2.18ERA and 78.1 IP.

| Ok if u want to hype a pitcher, here's a few for you: Scott Kazmir, 8-1 with 58 k versus 8 bbs in 65.2 with a 1.51 ERA in his last 10 starts or would u prefer Jeff Francis 6-0 in 7 starts since coming over with a 2.51 ERA or how about Josh Johnson who is 7-0 in his last 10 starts with a 2.39 ERA. And let's not forget that in Chases case, that was just a great stretch in an otherwise amazing season from a 2B. How many other 2B right now can claim a line even resembling 303/384/569 with 31 HR and 102 RBI? Wait, zero. But hold on, how many hitters in the majors can claim a line anywhere in that neighborhood? Well, Carlos Lee, Bill Hall, Jeff Francouer and Justin Moreanu if you ignore their .340-.350is OBA, Chris Duncan, Lance Berkman, and Ryan Howard. So basically no one that plays any key defensive position and when you add RBIs to the mix only Berkman and Howard are truly comparable. So hype? Hmmmm, I don't think so. | |

| If you actually read the whole thing Steveo you would have noticed that when you take Utley's numbers in whole, the only 2 hitters that can match him all around are Ryan Howard and Lance Berkman, both 1B. Hall's OBA and RBI counts are no where near where Utley's are | |

| I did read it...Hall was in the category of players you considered. And yes, I did ignore his OBP like you told me to. Bill Hall for MVP!
........or Scott Spiezio

| Not really hyping him for MVP but I just noticed that Carlos Zambrano on top of being tied for the league lead in ERA and 4th in Ks is hitting .318 with 8 HR. He has a .700+ SLG for crying out loud! I wish I could play him every day. | |
